Does anyone else find this to be a bit dumb? Isn't the idea of Ebay to create a perfect economic market where people pay as much as an item is worth to them? If someone is dumb enough to pay more than retail price, why is it someone else's responsibility to keep it from happening?

Don't get me wrong. I think inflating bids is wrong and they should do what they can to prevent it from happening. But come on people....wise up. Do some research before blowing your money online.

It's familliar to me from another place, inflate the bids is also a risk because the buyer could not buy the product in the end. But I think it's wrong to do.

I agree with DE, but still that doesn't make what the sellers did right and they should be punished somehow so it doesn't become the rule rather than the exception...
