Blockbuster has lowered their monthly online movie rental price to $14.99/month. You can have 3 movies out at a time, and you get a coupon for 2 free movie or game rentals a month. This is a very hot deal. The new lower price is guarenteed until Jan 2006.

Blockbuster is a joke to me. They charged us for a movie that we returned but was "late" because we canceled that membership, and they didnt let us finish off our month(that we payed for). I'll never rent another movie from those over chargers :P

I did the in-store thing...1st month is 14.99...then $25 thereafter. I've been going everyday after work (it's right on the way home)...I had to go buy more blank DVD's :)
What would you need more blank dvd's for? :P

Our Blockbuster sucks. Everytime I go to get a new release it's always out. Plus privately owned Blockbusters don't have to comply with the corporate Blockbusters deals and rules. I have not yet signed up for an online service yet but I believe I will go with Netflix or Walmart.

Only real drawback I noticed is that I like all the obscure stuff that Netflix offers and I noticed that Blockbuster's selection is pretty bland... :)

I like their on-line service so far, they ship out the next movie the day after I drop one in for return
selection is OK and I have yet to use their in store free coupons, but I will later.

I have no complaints at all.

kinda on topic, i saw some comercials for blockbuster that said that there was no more late fees. just wondering if anyone has used and abused the system yet, or is there some kind of catch?

I heard they are changing the in-store Movie Pass price to $14.99. This will be my 5th month and my wife and I love it.

I also got the full scoop on this whole "no more late fees" dealio. The deal is that they lost a class action lawsuit and this is what they settled on. Basically, any movie you rent can be returned within 7 days with no late fee. If you keep the movie for more than 7 days, but bring it back before 21 days, it will cost you a nominal $1.95 restocking fee. If you keep it longer than that, then they just assume you want the movie and charge you a semi-rediculous price (something like $20) for the movie.

I, personally, prefer the Movie Pass plan because it's still less of a hastle. And it's more economical if you rent as few as 4 movies a month.
