well...

My computer has been locking up when im playing games, and when im just idle at my desktop..it just completly locks up

I know it cant be overheating cause it freezes up on the desktop too..

And I know it cant be a virus cause ive used every program to detect them and they have found nothing

Things I have tried is booting in safe mode and it didnt freeze or nothing

So im wondering what could be the problem..

The things I have added to the comp recently are

a wireless connection adapter

19'monitor from a very old 17

Thing is I dont get is that i have a very good system and I cant figure out why and its making me very upset..

my specs are below...Volcano 8 cpu cooling fan...

I seriously need all the help I can get :/

sounds like you have driver issues to me but you may also have corrupt system files. put the xp cd in and goto run type cmd. when a dos screen opens, type sfc /scannow at the prompt and let windpws chk your system files to make sure all is ok.
