SALvation

I sent Goran an email yesterday and today he responded with some great news. Here are excerpts along with his responses:
Sal:
...(regarding the alias detective)...My question is that I realized that I could do Serious Sam stats in the same way. It could be very similar to what UT2003 does. All I would have to do is read the log file and write a function for each line where a person is fragged. There are only 2 problems which I hope can be solved in future versions of Sam.
Goran:
I've visited your site, and it's really cool. We (Alen and I) think it would be a great idea to have a stats system, soooo....
Sal:
1) Can you make each weapon have it's own death description? (i.e. SALvation blew Goran away)
Goran:
Yes. No prob.
Sal:
2) Can you give each game on a server a unique ID? This would make sure that games never get counted twice.
Goran:
Yes. We'll add an identifier to every new match started on a server.
I'll contact you with the details when I put both thing in the code. Untill then, if you have any more ideas, please let me know, but try to keep them simple.
Sal:
We just got our review copy of Sam XBox from Gotham and I must say I am impressed. Now bring out those deathmatch maps for the PC...or at least just give them to me ;)
Goran:
Thanks for the compliments. We'll see what we can do about that one. Can't promise anything, though.
Sal:
Have fun programming Sam for every platform known to man!
Goran:
I am. :)

Those are pretty cool remarks from Goran. So with any luck, look for GameMecca to head up the feature of stats collecting in future versions of Sam. Also interesting remark about the new deathmatch maps. It also confirms what was reported about a month ago that there are versions of Sam coming for multiple platforms.
