trojan removal help [Archive]

Was surfing GM and Norton popped up and said that I had a virus. I ran norton a couple times, and it repaired 7 or of the 8 files infected. Name of the virus is downloader.trojan.

I have gone to symantec's and gone through their instructions to remove it, but I still have a file that's infected. The name of the file that I can't repair is fe1ff.dll, found in the system32 folder.

I can't figure out how to fix this. I was going to try system restore but for some reason my restore points are gone (read something about real one player having an effect on that) and I don't know what else to try.

Any ideas? Even booting in safe mode I couldn't get rid of it becuase that file was being used.

I had that too I think.. I don't know if I cleaned the whole problem out, but I know that AVAST,(the trial version), was finding viruses and trojans non stop for like two days and then it stopped completley. Also AVG found a few and since then no problems.. The trojan downloader thing I had was constantly installing new viruses/trojans.. Anyway, dunno if I helped.. GL.

You can always download these progs and see if they help and unistall them afterwards..

Well finally got my laptop cleaned out now. WHEW! After being up till about 3:30am last night, found yet another one. Thanks Bigg for the help bro! I owe ya yet another one :thumbs:
