Yes :)

Basically the owners, in typical owner fashion, have not reined in their spending and salaries have gotten way out of control. Now league revenues are mostly eaten up by salaries....everyone agrees the NHL can't continue in this fashion, so a change is needed. What that change needs to be is the big argument...luxury tax type idea (players) vs. hard salary cap based on league revenues (owners).

Just like the last baseball labor war.

In my opinion, the only way to go is salary cap...it works for the NBA and NFL, and promotes a more level playing field competitively speaking. I think there needs to be a minimum cap as well so a certain amount is guaranteed to go to the players (I say this because Bill Bidwell, owner of the Arizona Cardinals of the NFL, is often millions of dollars below the salary cap level and keeps the money....greedy....and it is one reason why his teams stink every year).
