Emmitt is all class and one of the true role models today. He retires as the all-time leading rusher over 15 seasons. How many running backs last 15 seasons in the NFL?? And he didn't just last, he thrived. Last year he gained 937 yards on 35 year old legs.
It's a shame he couldn't finish out as a Cowboy, but he will surely have his name inducted into the Ring of Honor , as well as a trip to Canton.

This is the only way you could stop E. SMITH.

Gotta agree it was nice to see him finish on a good season. Not the flashiest player in NFL history, but he could get tough yards when they counted and was one of the best.

Watched ESPN this morning show highlights from his top 10 games. Quite impressive, too bad a league that lacks class is losing a person of such high character!

Yep I agree PE and also wish he could've stayed with the Cowboys to finish his career.

(Correction Biggs) You should have said : (starting with a capitol "I" "respect this guy" and instead of using past tense, since he hasn't died and is very much alive, you should have said.: starting with a :capitol "H"e really is a great and will be missed."

You still get 9 points out of 10 for content !! :D

Its ok, I got all day ! (Damn that GM spellchecker):P

Gotta agree with you all, a definite Hall of Famer and he will be very much missed !!!

Played behind one of the best offense lines in the history of the NFL as well. Credit goes to the OL that blocked for him all those years, they did a great job too...
