looks like Firefox is starting to make a name for themselves Yahoo steps up! (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=1093&e=4&u=/pcworld/20050210/tc_pcworld/119643)

after getting my ass beaten by a trojan/virus, I decided to try Firefox out and am enjoying it, and it looks like it's going to keep getting better! :)

I've never been screwed by IE - I stopped using it before it had the chance. Firefox is teh win. I take it you've discovered the joys of tabbed browsing, Pure? I've been using it since 0.6, and I'm so glad to see it catching on. It really is a superior browser. If you're still using Outlook or Outlook Express for E-mail, consider switching to Mozilla Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/). That's what I use for everything except work E-mail, because corporate America insists on bankrolling Microsoft. sigh

Yeah, Mozilla is very good about making it easy to import your data from Microcrap products (from IE for Firefox, from Outlook or OE for Thunderbird).

Tabbed browsing allows you to open multiple webpages in a single browser window. In Windows, this is particularly nice because if you have six pages open with IE, you have six effing window labels clogging up your taskbar. With Mozilla, you have one, and the sites appear on tabs across the top of the window. Here is a link to a screenshot of tabbed pages in Firefox:

teh tabs (http://neutron.wardust.net:8080/images/firefoxss1.jpg)

Notice the five different sites open, and the GM site highlighted as the active tab. Switching between pages is as easy as clicking those tabs. You can also set it up (as I have) to automatically open any new pages in a new tab - so when Pure sends me a link to a virus through MSN, when I click on it, Firefox automatically opens a new tab for it, rather than it opening in a tab I already had open. It's quite convenient.

personally, i don't see Microsoft IE with much of a future if Firefox keeps heading in the direct it has lately :D
