i want to buy a new vid card.Is a ati 9600xt 256MB a good choice or should i go with something else.

my mother board only supports agp 8x i think.I`ll post the model later.not home right now.

But anyways is their better in 8x 256MB in n vidia or .

Price matters. If anybody has a link to a super deal.I live in canada so shipping has to deliver there.

Anyways thanks if you have any info

What is your budget? AFAIK, 8x AGP provides almost no benefit from 4x AGP so I wouldn't even let that be a factor. I would maybe look at a ATI 9800pro.

hum....seriously 8x does not give much benifit to 4x.

but what increase would i have with a 8X instead of a 4x?

Budget is around 500 hundred bucks .i want a new processor also.

You see i change my mother board not long ago. It`s a asus mx400 or sometin.

the mother board support 3200 amd processors.I dont know if its a 754 0r 939 chip set tho.But anyways.

that's about my budget right now.

i think you should spend at least $200 on a video card. more would be nice but obviously you have limitations. a 9800 pro (make sure it is a "pro" or a geforce 6600 gt would be my suggestions.

also make sure it is agp and not pc express

i messaged ya fs

now for agp i didnt go over that

300 bucks 6600 gt agp bfg is a good choice
400 bucks 6800 non pro
both beat the 9800 pro pretty handily
currently we have the sapphire 9800 pro for like 279
and the ati 9800 aiw for 334.95
cards that are less expensive
9600 pro advantage sapphire 256 meg is 149
and the 128 is 129 both really hot sellers and a good deal for mid range agp cards..

anyways cheers mate..
