This will be the thread where we can discuss everything about the PSP. I'll also keep this first post updated with all useful information and tips, so if you have something, post it and I will update this first post.

How to convert video to PSP format (http://hardware.gamespot.com/Story-ST-11721-1725-x-x-x) - Gamespot shows how to convert nearly any video file into the PSP's MP4 format.

PSP Tunneling Software (http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/) - Trick your PSP into playing ad-hoc games over the Internet. Makes any ad-hoc wireless game multiplayer-capable over the net.

Text to Image Converter (http://www.pspcrazy.com/jpegbook_TXTtoJPG(PSPCRAZY.COM).zip) - This allows you to convert txt files to jpgs so that the PSP can load them with its image viewer.

Web Browser Hack Using Wipeout-Pure (http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/pspwebbrowserhack.shtml) - Get the Internet on your PSP using the Wipeout-Pure browser and some tech-heavy work. Link with better summary (http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?id=9793259).

PSP IRC Client (http://www.pspirc.com/) - Chat over IRC with your PSP and the Wipeout Pure Web Browser.

Output Tivo shows to PSP (http://www.zatznotfunny.com/ttg.htm#psp) - View your recorded Tivo shows on your PSP.

Store XBox Saves on your PSP (http://www.cq-ef.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=986) - Warning: Will erase all PSP data currently on the memory stick.

UMD Disk Swap Hack (http://www.psp-hacks.com/umd-swap-hack.php) - Play ad-hoc multiplayer games with only 1 copy of a UMD and multiple PSPs.

General Tips

Since all saved game files are put on the memory stick, it’s a simple thing to share them. Just find the files and make a copy on your computer. That way you can keep all your saved games on your hard drive when not playing the game, freeing up space on your memory card. You can also e-mail saved games or profiles to your friends.
The background never changes, but the color does. On the first of each month the color will change. If you don’t like the color it’s on now simply change the date.
Nothing eats up the battery more quickly than having your WiFi always on. Be sure to set the switch (on the left side of the system) to “off” and to change the WLAN Power Save function to “On” under Power Save Settings in the Settings menu of the home screen.
If you don’t like the save icons and backgrounds for your games it’s a simple thing to switch them out. The save icons are .png files with a resolution of 144x88. Use your favorite photo program to make any picture that resolution and convert it into a .png file, and it’s a simple thing to swap them out. Simply name your file after the one you’re replacing. Simple. Same goes for the backgrounds, except they are 480X272 .png files.
If you don’t want to exit out of a game to get some basic information, just hit the “home” key. It’ll ask you if you’d like to quit the game, but it’ll also show you how much battery life you have left, the time, and you can use this screen to adjust the volume.
UMD video plays the audio at a lower setting to save battery life. If you’d like to change this, simply go to settings, Video Settings, and then UMD Video Volume and set it to +1 or +2. While this will let you hear the movies better it also runs the battery down quicker, so be aware if you need the system for a long time.
A neat little shortcut for the picture viewing software lets you zoom in and out without bringing up the menu by holding the square button and them moving the analogue stick up and down.
You don’t have to exit out of games if you need to put the system down for a few minutes. The vast majority of games will go straight into sleep mode if you turn the system off. Turning it back on lets you pick up right where you left off. Basic, but neat.

Assuming you encoded the movies right and you have sufficient space:

First, you'll need to create a new directory in the root folder of your memory stick called "MP_ROOT." You'll then need to create a "100MNV01" directory inside the MP_ROOT directory. You'll put your video files in this 100MNV01 directory....Video files must be named in the format of M4Vxxxxx.MP4 where "xxxxx" is any five-digit number, like 00001 or 01323.

What I dont get is that it asks that you have quicktime, yet the directions say no reason for its use. GRRR!

Another tip - don't take the memory stick out of the PSP and load into a card reader to browse using your PC. The card reader may automatically format the stick.

how do i format a stick to put in the PSP?
Under the main menu, the option all the way to the left (settings I think) there is an option there to format the memory stick.

I recommend you guys get the Logitech Playgear Case. I got this badboy today. Its only 20 bucks and you can play with it while it is in its case. Its made out of polycarbonate, which I believe is used for melding masks, not sure though. You can even remove the foam from the top and place a picture inside of it as a cover and put the foam back in and, walah! You have yourself a custom case. You can also flip the top part of the case as a sun visor when your playing outside or use it as a stand.
