Is this rumor true?? [Archive]

I heard that ESPN games and EA Sports game merged and the 2006 suite of games starting with NCAA Football 2006 and Madden 2006 will have the ESPN layout and the ea sports gameplay. Is this a true rumor or not?? I cannot find any outside confirmation of this so id figure id ask the experts here on this! THank you for your responses!!!

EA has indeed bought up the rights to all NFL and ESPN liscences. I haven't heard anything on whether they will merge aspects of the 2 together or not.
I'm thinkin' that they will be kept two seperate franchises. :D

Thank you for that info !! I really hope that they combine the best aspects of both games to make the most amazing sport video games.
