I am lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this thing and I can't fricken put it down. This IMO is by far his best work to date.

This will be weird; since I am on 56-friggin'-k and lack any semblance of patience I will probably actually have to buy this album instead of just downloading it.

I happend to stumble accross a copy. It is pretty good, but I wouldn't say his best ever. Downward Spiral has it beat, imo.

How does it compare to Broken and Pretty Hate Machine?

(I don't even have to ask if it's better than The Fragile -- two CDs, 20 tracks, but only two good songs.)

Alexis SC430

I shouldn't even have to mention that those two good songs are "Star****ers Inc." and "Into the Void" since I'm sure you all knew that.

Gonna disagree about that. The Fragile is a different kind of album. Listen to it again. It's a work of beauty musically speaking.

It doesn't compare to Broken and Pretty Hate Machine. It's totally different.

It's different all right. Trent switched over to an all-whining-and-moping format. Listen to it again and count how many times he uses the words "gray" and "pain" and such.

Never said Lyrics. I don't consider lyrics as part of music.

I looove Reznor's lyrics, which is maybe why I didn't like The Fragile too much.

Honestly I would have to say it is pretty mellow for NIN.

Don't get me wrong it is classic NIN and good but, Pretty Hate Machine, is not what to expect. It is a mixture of his style I guess you could say.

I would highly suggest buying it. what you are hearing is a lower sound rate than the CD.

To elaborate on what slice said about DS. DS was a concept album filled with layer after layer of odd sounds. Pulling it off live was insane to see first hand.

DS had a flow and a feel behind it. You can't just listen to one song and understand whats going on. Fron start to finish it's a story.

The Fragile- An insane piece of work like nothing I have ever heard. Iwill rank this up the with Pink Floyds The Wall in means of muscial talent. Fragile however long it is and for the 2+million albums it sold less than DS is IMO much better than DS.

With Teeth- Is a totally new approach to NIN. Live drums hardly any layers. It was made to be listened to as a song by song basis even though it all flows together. As far as lyrics go DS has it beat. Lyrics on this one are kind of cheap.
I forsee another Closer/Hurt type of hit with the song Only.

Yea I'm a fan.......

Yeah but she was trying to compare it to some of their earlier work like the album Pretty Hate Machine. That album is nothing like the new one. In fact I believe he had a completely different band back then. This new album has the drummer from Foo Fighters. It's Trent, what do you expect, he can do what ever the hell he wants and make it sound good!!!

I won a copy from 102.1 The Edge for knowing the failed band he was trying to form with Maynard James Keenan was called Tapeworm.

I was allowed to either pick it up at the Gypsy Tea Room during the listening party.. or wait for it to be mailed.

anyways, i had some choice things to say about ya that i kept going back and erasing

ill just leave it at that.

I was unaware that the radio stations were allowed to give out copies of the album. I had to sign a non-disclousure agreement from Interscope to gert my advance copy. So if you do not like me honestly I really don't give a rats ass.

I did not have to sign a NDA, but that was never the issue. In fact.. there never would had been an issue had it not been for you.

You do however keep replying... and honestly.. i had long since already forgotten the matter

Ill leave the thread alone for good now, and you can name call point fingers and bollywho all ya want

Im glad your happy with the album
