I dont really understand what you are asking for?
Do you want a DEcoder, something that reads mp3's, or an ENcoder, something you use when compressing audio files?
WMP has an mp3 decoder hence why you can play mp3 files.

You only use encoding to compress audio files and wmp has one biult in as well.

that may help you out because i'm not sure what you are asking for.

I personally recommend ITunes for all your digital music needs. It plays your MP3s and, if desired, will automatically keep them sorted with in organized folders. it also does easy ripping (AAC by default, but you can change that) and burning. It's the best digitial audio player on the market, if you ask me.

mad, you need not download anything new. As long as you have WMP10, all you must do is go to Tools>Options>Rip Music>Format Type>MP3

Oh, granted, he doesn't have to download anything...I never claimed otherwise. I said he *should* because ITunes is incredible.
