Ho said the folks back at Microsoft have been working with Apple on its developer tool Xcode and that the company is planning universal binaries of its products to support Apple's user base. Microsoft also said it expects to bring more Microsoft Exchange Server software features to the Mac platform based on Apple's new relationship with Intel.

all the old school Mac Daddies cringe when they read about Mac selling out.

Apple has to do something to improve and lower cost. People just wont pay more for less, and that's what Macs basically are, unless you're in specific graphics fields.

I read about this. It seems a little awkward but hey it could be a match made in heaven.

I am trying to be somewhat optimistic about a wierd and hopefully successful union. I t would help Mac to become a viable competitor.

but mac has always done its own, unique thing. Think about it, there will no longer be any standing out among companies because they will all be using the exact same platforms. I like diversity

Diversity is great. But maybe Mac with be able to spin this deal with intel so that it still reamins a unique company

possibly, or it will merely sucumb to the pressure of its technological peers and meld into the uniform techilogical industry

on the other hand, with mac going to the dark side, that leaves a power void for another system to start up and take its place. The penguin could be coming into the forefront soon, yes?

the little guys wouldn't cause a problem, they would never be given the chance to come up to the higher levels if they were buggy
