About the whole "It's just a game..." thing, there are several ways of looking at it.
Ultimately there is no best in anything because its all a matter of taste and opinion.

We can say that FS is currently the best in Serious Sam because he won last year's tourney against Nano, Anus, and myself. But AI was banned at that time and couldn't participate even if he wanted to (which he sure as hell did).

There is always a cheap tactic you can pull such as grabbing a pup during the match (if custom maps w/o pups were used in the tourney i think the matches would have been less stressful) Then there is spam, which really can't be turned off unless we are playing shotty trouble. Spam is what Nano relied for a large percentage of the time and his ability to place grenades gave him a big lead at times.

Then of course there is lag for the Euro players or those with a weak connection, which also keeps skilled players from playing their best, thereby limiting the amount of "elite" players in ssam significantly.

Thats primarily why there could never be a "best" or how I like to say "top" player in ssam.

Then again we all try to be the best at whatever we do, and we all try to improve. So to possibly have a "best" player would probably encourage others to try to be like them. I know very few here follow professional gaming, but there are tons of examples of incredibly skilled players none of whom are referred to as the absolute best in a game.

I know i strive to be very good at ssam, and i think that after almost three years of playing by myself and training with AI, Nitro, and some other very good players, I've reached my pinnacle. I can't honestly say that i will ever be as spammy....errr
...good as AI or FS, but it never hurts to try.
