compressing a dual layer dvd to single

i want to backup a movie cause im going on a trip and watch it in the car
how much % will be lost if i compress a full double layer movie into a disc?

It will be compressed about 60%. But if you are watching it in a car I doubt it will matter much because it is not like you have a 42" plasma in your car.
