I'm putting together a new system for my home use. Little business and lots of games.
What video card combines the best features/speed and reasonable price?
I don't need TV out or anything like that.
Rest of the system
MSI motherboard
Athlon XP 2100
512 PC 2100 DDR
48x CD-RW
Antec Case
80 gig WD Hard drive
Thanks, V98ci

As it stands right now, I would go with the Radeon 9500 or 9700.
But, since the NV31 and so on by nVidia is coming out in a couple months, plus the new Radeon card is coming out...I don't know.
I guess it depends on how soon you want it.

If I were in the market, ready to plunk down $200 or more for a new video card, I'd have to wait until we got a look at the R350, or the FX, although I'm not really very enamored with the FX and it's huge cooling system and power drain - for me, it would mean a PS, too. If I were building one now and intent on getting a card now, I'd love to have a 9700 Pro. It can be had for $291 from Newegg.com. Or, you can get a GF4 4800 by Gainward (http://www.fticomputer.com/cgis/detail.cgi?product=VB-PC-GF4-4800SEB&ses=4464e3914bf79da50478b7233bf9e5ae&cat=VB), they make a quality card, it's AGP 8X, for under $200. But, if you go look at performance tests between those cards, you'll want to scrape up the extra $90. The 9500 Pro (http://www.buyxtremegear.com/9500pro128mb.html) is a nice card as well, and affordable at $164.
