I'll warn you, though, that if the requirements for Q4 are like the requirements for Doom3 (since it's the same engine/company), it'll run like total crap...I was about the bottom end when D3 came out, and I got about 4-6 fps...

What settings did you run the game at?

If you could run Doom 3, you can run Quake 4.

If you could run Doom 3, you can run Quake 4.Whew, great. I thought my 9800 Pro (modded) wouldn't be able to run it. But it ran D3 fine, so I guess I'm safe.

Not exactly. The pace in Quake 4 is said to be alot faster than in Doom 3, there will be more visual objects passing by you and more NPC's in single player. So although it will RUN if you could run doom 3, it will not run great. Of course it depends on what settings you perfer to play with. :)

one thing you may want to considder is if you're playing SP or MP. If you're playing single player for a vissual gaming expereince, then you would want higher settings. If you're playing multi player, then you want to run lower settings because the details are distacting. Many of the top UT 2k4 players run their settings around 800 x 600 so they can focus just on the target and not the eye candy, they also get better performance.

Eye candy, or body count, you decide :D

800x600? that's weak! Quake3 players with everything turned down, forced models, simple items, 125 max fps (for extra jumps), brightness all the way. It's kinda sad really.

sweet! Like a couple others have said, though, what made doom was the slow, scarry pace...not a ton of fast moving graphics...there will be a ton of guys running, building blowing up, etc in Q4...same graphics, more motion = more processing. Dont' be surprised if it runs a bit slower than D3.
