I am wanting to purchase the full game of Doom 3 but here is the problem.

While playing the demo it seems to run fine in most cases. But the game eventually crashes and my graphics card tells me that VPU cover has been enabled because it can handle only so much commands.

My graphics card is an ATi Radeon 9800 SE 256MB . The card was cheap when i got it and now i think i know why, It sucks. I also have the latest drivers installed.

Any suggestions?

if its playin it for a while, i'm guessing your getting a heat problem.
however, this VPU recovery thing is troubling, I'd say shoot the dust off with air and lower the settings to the minimum possible and see if it goes better

Right you are Slice. My next card won't be ATi.

I am not puting ATi down by any measure. They do have some really good cards, it's just i won't be buying ATi again.

Did you download the latest 5.11s? I have a 9800XT and it runs fine.

Updated to the latest drivers and reduced the resolution in game and it appears to be working fine.
