I'd consider this a software problem, because whenever I go to host a fragmatch on SS:SE, be it ingame or dedicated, nobody can connect or see it on the server list. I already checked my firewall and made sure it allowed serious sam to connect as a server, and i've hosted other games in the past. I also checked the "server visible" box and it still won't run. If you need to know, i'm not using a router and usually once i allow it through ZoneAlarm it runs fine.

Any help is much abliged,
Morph~

Have you tried turning off windows firewall along with turning off zone alarm and then starting up your server?
If you can see it after that then you need to figure out which one is causing the problem, if not then you have other issues.

Are you using serious runner to run your server?

No, I can't even host it ingame, and i've tried modifying default dedicated. I'll try serious runner, lemme look for it whilst I disable windows firewall.

Windows FW is off and it's running the runner now and it's still not showing up when i ping it on ASE.
EDIT - Okay, so i disabled zonealarm (bout had a heart attack trying, couldn't bring myself to leave it off) and it showed up when i pinged. Now i just need to get ZA to like sam.
Edit 2x - Forwarded 25600 TCP/UDP in Zonealarm and all is good. Thanks for the help.

Back when I used to run a server, I had to forward ports 25600-25603, both TCP/UDP on my Linksys Router, software might be different. Also it used to take quite a while for it to showup on ASE, often close to 30-45 minutes .... but that's been over 2 years ago, things might have changed now.

Lol how do you figure, with that almost-finished 1.8 ;D I'll forward up to 25603 just for precautions, thanks.

I plugged into my router, instead of running directly through my modem, and forwarded 25600-25603 and still, nothing. Someone wanna look in sam and see if they see the saints server out of toledo?

If i turn off ZA will it mess me up or should my linksys router handle all the firewall issues
