Not very suprising these Awards, not a single truly great game came out last year. GTA:SA was just GTA3 again with a different story, nothing new. HalflLife 2 was a bit dissapointing, just like CS:Source. But again I assume that the actual games weren't taken too seriously at the awards. I mean who from the general mass public cares who made the game and how it was put together.

Gaming needs to get off the mainstream, if they're just gonna talk about them. Games are meant to be played, not watched.
