Whats your favorite band and why? I'd have to say The Cure. I have an obsession going on lately. Love them so much, so diverse over the years as well.

I agree the Cure rocks

Rock: I would have to go with Guns N' Roses (Appetite For Destruction) because of all the good memories back in my clubbing days.

Dance: Information Society, for the same reason as I gave for rock. Those days are long gone, but whew they were fun!

Led Zeppelin. End of discussion. :)

Why? It's one of the few bands where I can turn it on, close my eyes and simply enjoy how impressive and beautiful it is. I love lots of music, but not many can I do that with.

The Cranberries. Cold Play are up there too.

The Cure are just legends

Modern stuff... Linkin Park

"A Place For My Head"

I watch how the
Moon sits in the sky / in the dark night
Shining with the light from the sun
The sun doesn't give / light to the moon assuming
The moon’s going to owe it one
It makes me think of how you act to me / You do
Favors and then rapidly / You just
Turn around and start asking me / about
Things you want back from me
I’m sick of the tension / sick of the hunger
Sick of you acting like I owe you this
Find another place / to feed your greed -
While I find a place to rest
I want to be in another place
I hate when you say you don’t understand
(You’ll see it's not meant to be)
I want to be in the energy, not with the enemy
A place for my head
Maybe someday I’ll be just like you / and
Step on people like you do and / Run
Away the people I thought I knew
I remember back then who you were
You used to be calm / used to be strong
Used to be generous / but you should’ve known / That you’d
Wear out your welcome / now you see
How quiet it is / all alone / I’m so
Sick of the tension / sick of the hunger
Sick of you acting like I owe you this
Find another place / to feed your greed -
While / I find a place to rest / I’m so
Sick of the tension / sick of the hunger
Sick of you acting like I owe you this
Find another place / to feed your greed -
While / I find a place to rest
You try to take the best of me
Go away:jammin:

2 very good choices.

hmmm...other bands (grabs the CD binder...)

I'm a closet Boston fan - I like them a lot! Also a fan of REO Speedwagon and Styx (i'm prepared for the insults...)

I personally LOVE most of Ben Folds stuff, but that's probably not what you're looking for...:P

Can you name a few of the "good" cure songs - the ones everyone loves.

The classics, if you will. "Metallica" is to "Enter Sandman" as "The Cure" is to what?

I think I downloaded one of their songs once, and hated it, but for all i know it was their all-time worst song...and everyone mentions them, so maybe they're worth another listen.

To expand on your list:
A Letter To Elise
Doing the Unstuck
The Hanging Garden
The Caterpillar

The Cure has had many styles as they've been around for about 26 years I think a good album to start with thats easy to get into is The Head on the Door, which is more pop. I think one of their best albums is Disintegration. Their darkest album is probably Pornography. I didn't really like it at first but its slowly sinking in.

Anyways, I was never a fan of Linkin Park. I kinda hate them actually. Cranberries are good too but I am starting to hate ColdPlay. Their new album was utter crap IMO and was basically the same as the others.
