Apparently they are making the car at a loss and only plan to make a few of them.

I think the car costs 5 million to make and costs the person wanting to buy 1 million.

The car costs £825,000 (About $1.5m) It is the most fantastic car in the world. VW built it just because they could and Chris is right it cost £5m per car to build. To give you an idea of it's performance:

If you drove the McClaren F1 (the world's fastest production car before this) to 120 mph and then let the Veyron go it would still beat the McClaren to 200 mph. Simply awesome!!!
