Don't put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to stock. Diversification is the key. Plan long term. ;)

I here ya. I sold all my crap that I had in Viacom and bought Siri. Don't worry. Coke and Disney will help fund my retirement which if all goes well will be in 6 to 7 years.

I used to about 7-8 years ago when the dotcoms were going nuts, but after about 2 years I ended up losing around 5k or so. Since then I have done alot more research and am now diversified into mutual funds, CDs, IRAs, 529's, stocks, and my matress.

I play with them but I'm not really a share/stock addict. I tend to put the majority of my money into long established companies to lessen the risk. Occasionally I'll put a little into new business but I've lost more than I've gained this way.

Good luck

As much as I'm addicted to satellite radio I figured I should buy their stock as well. I have them as well as a few others. I sold my google stock after it doubled and I'm stilling kicking myself, since its quadrupled. doh!
