Graphic Contest - Week 4 - PhotoChop

This week's contest is a PhotoChop contest. You must use one of the pictures below of Hillary Clinton to PhotoChop to the background of your choice.

The only rules are:
1) Post a 'before' of your background picture along with the 'after' picture.
2) The picture is supposed to be funny so PLEASE be tasteful and no pornography.

The picture is really funny and I want to allow it, but if I do then I will have to allow others to break the rules in the future. The rules this week state that you had to use one of the pictures I provided and put Hillary's face on a 'background' of your choice and then post both a before and after picture of the background that you used. I'm sorry but it does not count and I hope you try again.

- I decided to do a parody of the movie "Barb Wire" that stared Pamela Anderson.
- I used the file 5.jpg in my PhotoChop
- As you can see I had to do quite a bit of resizing, color matching, blurring, etc to get the two pictures to match.
- Notice that Pam's hair that comes across the face is still in PhotoChop version.
- The Barbwire that goes across the screen was cut out of a picture I found.
- Font is Chunk-a-Chip http://www.dafont.com/search.php?q=Chunk-a-Chip

Hybrid that is a good idea you had about attaching the .psd file, that way peeps can see how we did what we did and how the layers are used to produce the end results so they can learn and get better which is one of the reasons for this contest. Thanks! :thumbs:

Y'all keep complaining about how Hillary looks like a man, well for one thing, Hillary does not wear much makeup (She REALLY needs to :P ) and another thing, when compared side by side to someone like Pamela Anderson who is arguably one of, if not THE most beautiful women in the world, of course she is going to look less attactive or "like a man".

I could easily add cut the eyeshodow makeup from around Pam's eyes and paste it on Hillary's eyelids. My entry meets the rules as is, but if I get time, I might do it.

nice idea on entery CA. But you could balance colors of face and arms,, plus smooth out edges. i see that you actually cutted the head out of picture, sam aas actually i did. But i know for sure that SHO used clone stamp to make his.. that makes the best results
there is to ways to smooth edges out... one is blending options (outer and inner glow) and clone stamp itself (alt + click on target from wich to copy, then left mouse to paint on different picture or layer)

Hehehe i'm not even sure what the clone stamp is :)

Resized the photos so the faces were the same size. Made a new project and I put the Pam background on one layer, cut out Pam's face, cut out Hillary's face and pasted it behind the Pam layer, moved it so it showed thru the part I cut out of Pam's face. Used the brightness/contrast & color adjustment tools to get the facial colors to match. Instead of adjusting just one picture, I did both and had them meet in the middle so to speak. Then selected the Pam background and used the blur or blur more tool a few times to take out some of the sharpness out of the background so it matched Hillary's face since it was such a poor quality picture. Then used the smudge tool to blend/smooth the edges. Finally flattened the layers and make any other adjustments that it needed.

I'm off to investigate the clone stamp. :P

As you can see here, next week's contest will be a magazine cover contest. I will always have the type of contest we will use the next week listed there so if you all want to start getting some ideas for what you want to do or start gathering images, fonts, etc ....

Just a few of the basics:
- Entries are to be built from scratch, that means open a new blank canvas using the following dimensions (H) 10.5" x (W) 8", in pixels that would be (H)756 x (W) 576 pixels and start from scratch adding your text, images, etc ...
- The magazine cover will be up to you, gaming, computer, sports, whatever. It is up to you. ;)

There might be a few more rules but that will help you get an idea. I suggest figuring out what magazine type you want to do and then go to Google and use the image search feature there to search for sample covers to get some ideas from. DO NOT take a magazine cover and just edit it, START FROM SCRATCH.
As an example i'll use a gaming mag and use GamePro to get some ideas from:

Then go to:

and use the render links there to search for a render to use on your cover, add some text and other graphics and before you know it, you are done.

or if you were going to do a computer mag, then use Google image search to search for hardware like video cards, cases, etc .... Most retailers like Newegg have their name on the images so do not waste you time there, instead go directly to the manufacturer's site and snag images there. A screen capture program comes in handy when "right click and save as" has been disabled or for flash sites.

I better shutup, i'm giving away my good tips. :P J/K Hollar if you need help with something, i'll be glad to help. If you like doing this stuff and can get pretty good at it, you can put some $$$ in your pocket. ;)
