You ASRock 939Dual owners
1) do you have a icon that says "Safely Remove Hardware" in your systray?
2) In not, how did you load the driver so that it didn't do this?

I tried to hit the Stop button to delete it, but it says "The device 'Maxtor 6 V080E0 SCSI Disk Device' cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later".

I've just built Chico's and my machines, that are both alike and both have this same problem. It works fine as far as I can tell and they are superfast, it is just that i'd like to get it out of my systray. I Googled this problem and it appears some other peeps have the same problem and either I didn't see a fix or missed it. I'm holding up on installing the rest of my stuff until this is fixed so does anyone have any ideas?

This is the drive I have and it is connected to the SATAII connector instead of the regular SATA connector.

I used the JMicron_XP_2K(V207) SATAII driver from:
http://www.asrock.com/support/download.asp?Model=939Dual-SATA2
and made a driver disk as it described in the Readme.txt.

Run Install.exe to install 32/64 bit driver for windows 2000/xp/2003
No Win98/me driver

Jx32.exe - install 32 bit driver for windows 2000/XP/2003
Jx64.exe - install 64 bit driver for windows XP/2003

If you want to build pre-install disk for windows,
copy directory "X32" and "X64" and file "JMicron", "txtsetup.oem" to floppy disk.

This is what it looks like if you double click the icon.

I have the board and I also have that icon in my tray. It's never bothered me so I haven't tried to hide it.

Thx for answering, now I know I didn't do something wrong. It's like it's reading it as a external drive, it just looks like they would address it someway and fix it.

Sho, the reason you see that is because your board supports hot swapping. You are able to or should be able to just plugin and unplug a sata drive while power is on. The rule does not apply to your C drive though so even if you wanted to disconnect it, it would not allow it.

I have the board and I never had that icon ever....at least that I remember. I did a bios update the moment I put the machine together I dunno if you've done that with your machine but I don't have that.

Thanks for the info guys.

Rivers which bios version are you using the v1.60 or v1.70? And your drive is hooked to the SATAII connector and not the regular SATA connector, right?

Actually I have v1.70 and it just clicked that the reason I don't have it is beacuse im not using any SATA drives I'm still using the IDE. Man I need a new hard drive.

Ok thx for checking bud. It is silly how fast this thing loads XP compared to my old machine when the install was fresh on it.
