I had a bad video problem with Un2, as I was on the 40.72 nvidia drivers. It's a posted problem with the game - the model textures look really crappy, worse than the aliens in "They Live". They said it can happen with any of the 40.XX drivers, and the 41.09s fixed it right up. Have a look at this page, the Unreal2 Tech Page (http://www.ina-support.com/faq/unreal2_pc.asp), lots of info on problems and fixes.

I am going to reformat Sifi's drive tomorrow and reinstall the operating system along with the latest drivers and OS updates.

Right now his system is a mess, and it will be a lot easier to troubleshoot when it is clean.

That's a good thing to do when it gets that way. Makes sure to back-up the mail stuff - that used to be what I would forget and regret.

Now, Un2 does take a lot of system to run - my system gets bogged by it, and I even went down to 800X600, which is significantly less pretty. I think those with a 9700 Pro will push it just fine, though.

Sifi has a P1.8 Ghz system with 512MB ram and a GF4 TI 4400. It should be enough. It runs fine on mine with the same ram and video, except I have an AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz.
