I was wondering if on Serious Sam: The second encounter if you could change the type from "Direct3D" to "OpenGL"

but on mine when i switch it to OpenGL, it doesnt list my video card "eVGA Geforce 6600GT" it lists "DEFAULT ICD"

But since im using a card that openly supports Opengl over Direct3D, i was wondering if there was another way to change that besides a reinstall..cause i lost my sam:second encounter cd when i moved and i dont know where its at :(

so if there is anyway i can do that it would be greatllllllllly appreciated

The default monitor thing shows up for everyone who switches D3D to OGL. It's normal and I have played using both API's finding D3D ALOT more friendly.

If you have Windows then you should stick to using Direct 3D. The video card's GPU doesn't have any real noticeable preference as to what API you use. But Windows likes D3D (i think sam was developed using D3D) hence why OGL kinda limits your options. TBH you shouldn't see any huge difference in Frames Per Second if you switch between API's.

Where does it say that your eVGA GeForce 6600GT supports one API over another?
