Hah we tried that in Chemistry class last year. We didn't use Diet Coke though. Our chemistry teacher said he didn't actually know why the reaction occured and he has a Doctrorate in Chemistry.

So having a doctrorate did not give him the magical ability to know all of the reactive chemical compounds in a bottle of soda and a pack of mentos? such a waste. burger king would have been a better choice....

My cousins and I do it all the time. Once we did it with Diet Pepsi, 7up Plus, and Sierra Mist. It works with all sodas, but Diet Pepsi definitely is the best. We dumped in about 6 in each bottle at the same time and I must say, it was pretty sweet. We found out about it in a Google Video video months ago.

Nice project!
One day we was in a super market
and we (friends and I) wanted to waste our money with f***in ****
so we buy mentos and coke,...
We get the idea to mix it!
I was curious and wanted to watch the "Coke Mentos Show"
so i get my eye over the hole, where we through the mentos....and then...:eek:
In a few seconds the half bottel of the coke was on my face
VERY humid and sticky!!!:bawling: :bawling:

I'm assuming drop in the Mentos and quickly screw the top back on. That would be extremely hard as it explodes out really fast. I just thought of a theory though. Tape the mentos to the inside of the cap. Screw it on like normal but don't let the mentos touch the soda. Then, when you throw it, bam!
