start 50 animated images, for each, assume that the input will be a ball from one of the 4 directions, animate all for a certain number of steps to where the ball ends up being output in another direction. splice the images together (where input in one image aligns to the output of another image, etc) and voila. of course programatically creating the tiles would likely be much easier than doing it by hand.

its also set to loop as well. IN the middle it repeats itself, so its not as big as it looks.
