I have been seeing more and more about this on the web of late. Glad I don't use a laptop, that would suck!

Atleast I run a laptop cooler. But I don't leave it on unattended anyways.
Looks like he may have a few dead pixels in the upper left corner of his display now.

its not really the laptop that is exploding, but the battery that is developing a short and has a dangerous surge of energy. we are pretty much used to batteries being inert things, but they really are not. take a look at a cutaway view of a battery and you will see a gas valve at one end. batteries also can leak, i have open more than a few battery operated radios to find the old batteries covered in some crystalline material...
