You're almost right.

It's the first time it's ever been done in competition.

He did it for fun earlier this year. He was on Leno last night.

It's definitely a killer backflip to watch. He said that one key is to never look at the landing til your ready to land, otherwise you'll hesitate and your rotation will get off...and he looked at the landing on the first flip, so the entire second flip he was sure he was crashing.

I didn't get to see it live, but they replayed it a lot while I was watching other X games. I did get to see him in the freestyle comp and WOW! Backflips are nothing anymore, you have to do so many variations, and the ones Trav was throwning down were just plain SICK! :jammin:
