Poor little Pluto, he tried his best, but he just wasn't big enough.

Everyone in my house lived their entire lives with Pluto as a planet, and now they decide that it's not a planet any more. Poor poor Pluto. Although Ceres and Xena may join the list of planets, Pluto is still a winner to me.

Only problem with that last post is that under the new rules neither Ceres nor Xena will be called planets either, they join Pluto in the list of "dwarfs" in the solar system.

it seems to me like a bunch of astronomers were looking to make a name for themselves and this was the easiest way. How dare they demote Pluto?!
My life no longer makes sense...oops, never did to begin with :D

Pluto is a planet. Sounds like astronomers were bored.

Yep, sounds like these "scientists" wanted a new way to make a lot of money and get a lot of attention, so they decided to downgrade Pluto. They can downgrade whatever they want for all I care. PLUTO IS A PLANET!!!!!

well for me being a science nut this whole thing has drove me to do some research to really get why it is no longer a planet.. still havent found out much about it yet, but hope I find enough for it to make sense to me

you saw that too eh Sho? was in morning paper today how many people are trying to cash in on this new thing.

And as for why Pluto was voted off the planetary list, it is supposedly because its orbit is out of sync with the rest of the planets (it crosses paths with Neptune and is on a different plane from the other planets), it is considered too small to be a planet (sorry if they aren't all the size of Jupiter :/), and because they theorize that if it came too close to the sun it would sprout a comet-like tail and also become oval in shape. (THEORIZE!)
