Those were the glory days! Lots of servers, lots of players. You didn't have to worry about finding good people to play, you had to worry about being able to get on a server before it filled up. Damn good times. :thumbs:

And BTW, I did actually manage to occasionally win a few games. :P I got rid of all my screenies long ago though. :(

Ah yes, the golden year(s) of sam. Where every other player was in a clan and didn't constantly complain about spam or lag errrrr..... well maybe not. Anyway sam just wasn't the same for me after DD left along with the other MERCS, things just seemed to go downhill from there.

Surprisingly enough both the Villains and the Grim Reapers remain active in the ssam community to this day, good for them. Thanks to the dedication of TIK, Slash, and the Reapers a handfull of US players have servers to play on (for 3 minutes or so before issuing a complaint and immediately leaving).

To be quite honest I haven't played the game in almost two weeks either because there is no one on or the players are not a worthy challenge. Winning almost every single game gets repetative after a while and the maps are no longer as fun to play on as they once were.

Here are some shots from several montsh ago. Unfortunately I did not back up any of my demos or screenshots from the past years so I only have the screens which were taken when I last reinstalled Serious Sam.

I'm on MSN right now, but I doubt that you will be able to convince me to play anything. I'm kinda over video games right now and other things are beginning to interest me. I just recently started my first year of college and I have alot of work and responsibilities that need to be taken care of. Unless this game allows for players to earn instant cash I don't plan on trying it out. :(

I've had so many aliases in my life i can't even count how many.. heck at least i'm honest.Tho the reason for doing so is not because of pride or wanting to keep a good image it's for the soul purpose of being the caracter ...the hunter in the game when i was playing and not some friendly hello what's up kinda guy let me tickle your tommy while fragging you kinda guy. You should have just removed your entire post. I don't even want to know about the stuff you decided to remove.

What you posted was wrong and completely irrelevant to the entire thread. You are trying to start a flame war for no reason. There was no instigation for you to start critisizing Jim or anyone else. Your post is inconsiderate and your rash behavior is not something to be proud of.

If it's a joke then I am not laughing. You sound like a 12 year old trying to get attention because either your friends or family don't give you any. The most pathetic and impersonal way to do that is through an online forum.

I will mention this. No matter what game you play (withing a community), whether it's for fun or for money, good sportsmanship is the only thing that will gain you respect. I am talking from personal experience and I can assure you that telling everyone that you are better than them is not going to get you any respect. I ultimately destroyed my appreciation of gaming because of seeing people act this way and then acting the same. One of the reasons that I don't play ssam, or any other game for that matter, because there is a lack of respect for players (new or old). There are plenty of other reasons as to why I decided to cut back on playing games but none stand out as much as the one I just mentioned.

There is no such thing as a "better game" in terms of enjoyment. You play what you like. I think that sam is better than any other First Person Shooter in terms of the enjoyment I get out of playing it.

He learned the maps and the strategies before, and better than, anyone else and he was pretty much unstoppable. You may say that there are better players than him, but that's only because he stopped playing, and he stopped playing before most of you started playing.

I don't know who the Bones is in the screenie, and I know that someone else started playing with that name later on. But to me the name Bones belongs to the original and not anyone who came after.

He started playing another game, but I forget which one. As more people started playing SS:SE he became famous, and I don't think he was comfortable with it. About the time that people started to try to talk with him in-game (and probably trash talk him too) all the time and started bombarding him with invitations to join clans *cough*MERCS*cough* he quit the game. :(

i can honestly say or think i know that i played the "real" bones twice.
He had a alias but my feelings were strongly towards the fact he was
Bones.He had a alias with a weird colour that no one used,Hole and forteress
were the maps i played him.Anyways all to say that if it was not him it was no one i knew from back in the day.This was late 2002 i think.I asked him who he was and got no awnser. Well i did get a awnser but i'll leave it be.Anyways what was the outcome you may ask? Imagine me glowing orange blue and invisible . That was the outcome lol. I remember when timing power ups was a routine for me hehe. Every thing said to each other pointed out to the fact he was who i thought he was.
