Which one do you guys think had or has the best storyline ever? Its the only reason I play a single player game anymore and as such, I have refined my tastes somewhat. The best storyline game in my opinion is Max Payne 1 and 2.

Thoughts anyone? :D

Max Payne, FTW...sorta.

You kept to shooters (first or third) and among them, definitely Max Payne.

If you get into all games, it's hard for me to pick anything over diablo or starcraft.

Other: Mario always had a stunning storyline.

But serious, if quake is in this row...

I think the most important thing is how the story is told, just look only at zelda wich basicly is "Kill Gannon" with no questioning about who the bad guys are, but it's told perfectly

But since it's for pc gaming I would like to add Outlaws to the others.

I always liked the MGS series story line the most. It progresses very well and every cut-scene is beautifully rendered and directed, the characters have depth as well which always helps. I also felt that the story itself was very original unline Max Payne which has roots in film-noir and can be linked to several films containing similar story lines and themes.

When the happy-go-lucky bigheads were chasing Sam in their flying crate train, and then they crashed.....I cried.

If were sticking to PC shooters, Max Payne 1 and 2 had best storyline.

I like the historical story of Medal Of Honor

I've not played all of those games so I really can't say which is best, but like Mad Fox, I liked the historical story lines of military shooters like the Call of Duty series.

I'm shocked that no one has jumped up for the quake option as it did have a rather good storyline that the makers at least stick to pretty well through the titles (ignoring quake 3 :P)
