yeah, well my concern is if some of them add a sig that includes a linked image that really is a payload exe. IE is stupid enough to download and run these, results = instant cucumber up ass for most IE users. I have seen this before and it isn't pretty.

you know, when is the last time that some non-referred person came and made any type of actual contribution? new members should have posting privledges turned off until someone can vouch for them. this ma y sound harsh, but IMO is necessary.

No, not to me it doesn't and in fact that is in the works ... kind of. There is a mod that keeps members from posting hypertext links until you have a certain postcount. I've been waiting for a few weeks now to install that and it should hopefully curb the ad spamming, but the forum software needed to be updated first and Sal did that yesterday.

How about restrict anyone from starting a new topic until they reach at least 10 posts

ok, for hypertext links I hope that includes imgs in both the post and also the sig, because i know the image/exe payload exploit will come one day.

Huggy that hack would help too, anything that makes it harder and takes more effort on their part has got to deter them.

i think this is the best way to go:thumbs: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=124828

That one is now implemented. We will give it a try and see how it works. There are a couple other ones out there, like one that won't allow you to post urls till you have x number of posts. If need be, that one can be implemented as well, but the above one was the easiest to install (all done from the acp and no editing required) so we will see how it works.

Good fine there Huggy
