Germany has a low tolerance for violence, but is very laid back about nudity and sex, has great porn, and best of all, has Rosie.

Besides, the law is unenforceable.

Nah they will not make illegaly ALL games.. :D
only the new comings and the "oldies" and "classics" like battlefield, cs, css etc.
don't think they will forbid SS:SE or SSII
the style of SSII is funny not brutally

Ok well no more violent games for you mister.

I just want to point out that this ban may sound semi-plausible in writing or speech. However, in practice this is not possible because society has come to accept violence in their media. Banning one form of media violence could only lead to the ban of all media violence. It doesn't really matter if it's simulated or not. When speaking out against violence one must consider ALL sources no matter how subtle.

It may seem that video games contain the most "realistic" portrayal of actual violence. I mean the combat in CS is somewhat close to how an actual terrorist or anti-terrorist unit would function given their weapons, physical limtations (the map, their movement, and their "health"), so it's no real surprise, also taking into account how popular the game is in Europe and the US that this game in particular has come under fire.

Still there is hardly any reason why one should even make a case against violent video games when there are simply so many other factors to consider. I mean if 10,000,000 people play CS on a semi-daily basis and only 10 of those go out and shoot up a school with an assault weapon (where they would get their hands on one is another story) then I don't see how one can make a direct link with the crime and the game.
