ripping dvd region codes

Hi: anyone have a foolproof way to remove region codes from a dvd?

I tried DVD decrypter but the end results would not play in a dvd. The alternate method is to use a dvd to mpeg and then a mpeg to dvd, but that takes tons of time and it really kills the quality, not to mention all the additional content.

Basically each region of the world has a certain code that allows for movies that are sold/distributed in that region to be watched only in that region. This applies to console games as well and that's why people try to make region free software hacks so they can play games from japan on their Wii's.

Why not just get a region free DVD player? Seems like most of them are now these days.

Because major media corporations STILL think they can control what you see, hear, and read. Fortunately there will always be some 16 year old sitting in his basement spending 45 minutes breaking protection schemes that cost these corporations hundreds of thousands of dollars developing.
