I did a list like this last year, so I'll do one again this year. Each of the 10 options is a link that will take you to a page with information regarding the game.

I think it's interesting that I posted 9 last year, and only 4 of them made it to the shelfs. There are still 5 unfinished. I would imagine that a similar situation unfolds this year, but if 1/2 of these titles manage to hold up, we should have some good gaming.

Unfortunately, I forgot an "other" category. If you're thinking other, feel free to voice it. Here are many other titles coming out this year that I coudlnt' get in the list (max=10)

Medal Of Honor: Airborne
Huxley
Call of Juarez
Lord Of The Ring: Online
Half-Life 2: Episode 2
Assassin's Creed
Stranglehold
WoW: Burning Crusade

Additionally, here's a much more complete list that I found online (complete w/ screenshots, could take a while to load):

I think my list is currently

UT2007
Crysis
Hellgate: London
Bioshock
and the rest somewhere along the line.

You never know, though. Last year I included Oblivion just to give some variety to the list, and said that I didn't even care about that one. It ended up being favorite title of the year.

I did not buy one game last year. I've not seen one that I am interested in buying this year either.

Wowza! Sorry to hear that! I was a bit let down by last year, considering how very good the 2 years before that were, but I'm very very very excited about this year.

Heck, last year wasn't that bad. I got Oblivion, Prey, Half-Life: Ep 1, Sin Episodes - it wasn't a bad haul.

Guess I don't need to say what I voted...

I didn't bought a game for months now (since there are delivery problems with the Wii ). Although I really starting to hate EA for blowing up the market with many bad games.

Btw strange that CoJ still not out in other countries  I loved the game (even considering the very bad ending)

As I was creating the list, I smirked to myself as I typed "Supreme Commander" b/c I knew it'd get at least 1 vote...

I personally couldn't stand the demo for DoJ, and absolutely cannot imagine buying the full product.

wow, i didnt know so many point and click adventures are going to released. im also looking forward to Two worlds. TW seems like very promising oblivion-like RPG, but its developed by small team so i have some doubts.

Hehe, I knew u knew :funny: At least it made it to the first 10 :o

And for CoJ, yeah it's a very specific genre: "like it or hate it". But since Outlaws I learned that Westerngames can really rock, maybe bit nostalgic feelings which got the upper hand :D

There will be a new SS game

from Seriouszone :

Serious Engine 3 Details - Rodzilla - 4:00 PM - Comments - Link to this Item

Since Serious Sam 2's release a year ago, Croteam has been hard at work on the next revision of their game engine, Serious Engine. While The First Encounter and The Second Encounter both used essentially Serious Engine 1, and Serious Sam 2 used Serious Engine 2, significant progress has already been made on Serious Engine 3.

Several posts in our forums from members of Croteam's beta testing team reveals the first ever details of the developer's next-gen game engine, as provided to them in a demo video from Croteam.

What we had in the video was basically a technology demo like SS: FE and SS: SE had showing us some of the graphical goodness like illuminated color bleeding, sub surface scattering, normal mapping, and some very very realistic looking enviornments. Its (sic) amazing that teapot model that was used in the very first Serious Sam can look so much better with shaded textures and lighting that one would swear it was almost real with all the nuances and imperfections emulated in render (sic)! And this was also only a fairly short video that shows only some of the features of the new engine.

The only other engines I've seen that I've seen that will even come close to the quality in the video so far are Unreal 3 Engine, and the new Far Cry. We also get to look forward to real time water surface interaction, surface illumination, GPU radiosity, enviornment effects (effect in the video was a very realistic looking rain splash on the interactive water surface, every rain drop making its own ripple), subsurface scattering (like new Far Cry), dynamic lights (with what looks like realtime soft shadows, makes me happy), water surface physics, the teapots I mentioned earlier with a variety of awesome looking materials that were applied, and the best reflection refraction effects are the better than in HL2 (sic).
Check back regularly for more updates on Croteam's future engine and upcoming projects, and be sure to visit our forums.

I swear, if they don't fix the multiplayer part of the game, I'm going to Croatia and construct the netcode myself

BlackWolf
01-07-2007, 03:50 PM
well if we look at the games they made so fare
this 1 is going to be a disaster cause they keep getting worse every time they try to make them better

well look at it this way if they make it worse they might as well skip the multiplayer part of game

But honestly, its 2007, not 1998. Multiplayer in FPS games is where it's at these days...unless you are making an RPG like Elder Scrolls.

We can only hope that it will be as good as SE but with better netcode.

true its only a few FPS games i bother play through in SP

MP is the way to go if they wanna make a hit game make a updated version of SSSE with loads of new stuff

maybe some serious havoc game with those spikey rollerballs from SS2 and other things u can drive/ride that could be fun :)

Specific information regarding what?

I can tell you that you'll get in trouble for having links in your sig like that, though.
