Hey I just got this thing called Internet Download Optimizer, and it is supposed to increase your bandwidth and crap like that, and I dunno if I should use it or not. This is not my PC so my dad will poop on my leg if it dies. So I need to know if anyone else uses this..Thanks

If you get something, grab CableNut. Go to the forums at www.tweakxp.com and the guy there will fine tune it to your system. Works great.

Don't use the Optimizer! It will mess with your registry. I had to have my Operating System re-installed when I used it.

I didn't notice any improvment only because I was downloading near my cap speed anyways, but I still did it. On the topic of downloading, you guys should get Download Accelerator. It's not one of those cheesy "speed up your connection" programs. It downloads files from 4 servers at once so you can grab huge files in 1/4th of the time. It also has resume and some other great features. I think it is at www.download.com.

The download accelerator helps speed up the downloads even with me running cable. It's lightning fast.

Hello I just got cable and I don't see how it could be faster LMAO
Cable it so sweeeeeeeeeeetttttttttttttt
Playing SS I was getting ping times of like 150ms-175ms, no lag, just when someone joins. Now for some reason it ****s up when I connect to Kazaa or WinMX. I am reinstalling them now to see if that help. If you have any tips, please let me know

Hey Grimmy try this, Roadrunner did the same thing to us.
On WinMX use port 16699 for TCP and 16257 for UDP and don't forget to open the same ports on your router if you use one.
Sorry I can't help you on Kaaza. :(
Here is a link to explain about the problem. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.buchanan/winmx/blocked.html
