These must be some lacking students. I dont know what would propmt someone to use those abbreviations.

It's really just the latest generation's version of shorthand in a way, although as the one kid said you shouldn't be using it in the final product, just drafts and so forth.

Maybe I'm old school, but the first time a kid turns in an assignment like that slap a big red F on it and they will quickly learn their lesson...

I found myself using "w/" and "b/c" all the time in college.

For me, though, I probably wrote less than 10 essays in all of college.
