you have NO IDEA how bad it is to be 20...when you were young, age was 18. Not only can you not legally drink, you cannot legally go to a bar, pub, *GOOD* nightclubs, gamble your life away, or participate in Survivor, buy property, among a hundred other things.
Of course, I have hookups and can get into most of those 21+ places but not all and i hate relying on my friends to hook me up becaues I'm extrmely independant.

In Quebec a lot of minors can get into bars...18 here :P sometimes they find dozens in raids.. but the penalties arent that bad...

But I imagine its harder in US because I was in Michigan last week on a business trip and both me and my boss got carded ... im 39 for gods sake :D

Actually, they were the same as 19,22 and 23.

I don't drink, so 21 meant nothing to me.

I'm waiting on pins and needles to be 25 so my car insurance premiums go down. Now THAT's worth celebrating. Freakin' 125 some bucks a month. At least I'm not as bad as my wife. My 125 is full coverage. Her 125 a month is for PLPD (which means that she's got $50,000 in health should she get hurt, but literally nothing on her car)

When I turned 18 I used to drive to New Jersey and nightclub. The drinking age was 21 in PA so I took to the road. They changed that law a few years later but it worked for me.

One thing out of a million things that sucks about the European Union is that they want the drinking age to be 18 across the board in all the countries. HA! Good luck enforcing that law :P

i completely and totally disagree. I was 2 completely different people between 18 and 21. The 21 year old was much more mature, for sure.

People mature at different stages of their life. An important factor in change is age and I think that I am currently going through some deep mental changes.

Some of it has to do with going to college for my second semester as a freshman. I realize that I will have to work much harder and actually dedicate more of my time in order to do well in my classes. I did very poorly on one of my exams and this really struck me hard since it was probably the lowest grade I've ever gotten in my life. So now I'll have to re-learn what I didn't understand the first time through and try to keep up with the new material.

The older you get the more responsibilities you will have and that will make you a mature person since you will have to make difficult decisions that can affect you and your friends and family.

I always try to take it easy and not get too involved in many things. I haven't played a sport since 4th grade and my only true hobby/interest is surfing gaming, movie, and other websites as well as playing ssam. Sure I go out and have fun with my friend every Sunday but that's about the only day of the week that I am not working or have school. I need to start considering new hobbies and activities because playing games and browsing the web all day gets mundane and after a while it can make you a very anti-social person.

So that's pretty much my life from the time I started High School till now. I don't feel depressed about it or have friends or family members who constantly criticize me about it. I know that I'm not the only person who lives this way and I have done some very neat and exciting things last summer and plan on going to places and seeing new things in the near future since I like to travel.

I realize that this was probably more than anyone may have wanted to know but it's true. I guess that I am still searching for who I really am and where I will end up in the next years to come but that's part of life.
