can't say that this ever happened to me...We had mole tunnels, but we never had water coming out of them.

Only time I saw this was in cartoons, but yeah, it definitely never worked to plug the whole there :D

This sounds like something that would happen after eating at Taco Bell.

The mud is now surging out at a rate equivalent to about a million oil drums a day.

Holy crap. And this could got on for years? They're gonna have one heck of a sink hole by the time it stops.

Big mistake in what they are doing but it's because it's the second most populous city in Indonesia etc.

Surabaya has many Flooding areas especially in the rainy season and from what I understand it’s mostly by clogged sewers and inept bureaucracy. The location is in a river and has a flat moderately low distance from the ground which doesn’t help much. The main Religion there is Islam among other religions but the history is interesting about a myth, according to Jayabaya prophecy about giant white shark and giant white crocodile fighting but there is meaning to the myth about outside invaders. There logo of the city is now both facing each other etc.

I can't believe no one else said it...

It takes a lot of balls to go ahead with a plan like that!
