The man who helped put Boston on the map has journeyed on.

Singer Brad Delp was found dead Friday in his New Hampshire home by police who were responding to a 911 call for help, made around 1:20 p.m. ET. Delp was 55.

I hated to hear of this guy's passing because my friends and I used to go riding around in the middle night in my MG Midget with the top down with their music blaring out of the 6x9s. Boston's "Don't look Back" album is one my all time favorites and you can listen to samples of that album here:

I too rode around jamming to Boston songs in my youth. Of course, by that time you guys were like 35 or 40, but still.

They made incredibly good music. Sorry to hear it.

Bumber, as you all said this was one of my favorite groups along with Kansas and Foreigner that I listened to all the time.

One of the greatest descriptions I've ever heard of any kind of music was one I read somewhere regarding Boston, and specifically the album of the same name (You know, the one with all the hits).

"Boston is the sound of your brother washing his car on a hot summer day."
