Playstation 3 Questions

Hi guys,

Can any of you tell me if the PS3 can play the UMD discs from the PSP?

Also, can it play normal DVD's (not Blu Ray)?

No it cannot play UMD discs (I don't see why you would want it too since the UMD format has a lower resolution and is made specifically for the PSP). It does play normal DVD's and Blu Ray but it does not play HD DVD's. Hope that helped. :)

Also, note that the DVDs are not upscaled like you would get with a cheap upscaling HD player. They are working on a software upscaler in a future download, but don't bother playing a DVD on the system yet. You would be better served to get a $100 upscaling DVD player or just use it for BluRays.
