Gamemecca, is an online community focused on giving the fans of video games such as Serious Sam a place to gather and discuss the various aspects of the game. On Gamemecca fans can find support through the community and the Clan system to feel more involved with their gaming experience. Along with the gaming support, the Gamemecca community has sections dedicated to the assistance of software and hardware issues. This ensures that members will have a place to turn when they cannot figure out their computer problems. A Graphics and Video section gives both the new and the experienced a place to showcase their creative talent through game art, forum signatures and avatars, and gaming videos. Recently, Gamemecca has also opened up new sections dedicated to Anime, Movie Reviews, Classifieds, and Hot Deals.
Gamemecca officially opened to gamers on September 10, 2002 through the efforts of Salvation, Dark Leviathan, and Hammer. At the time most Serious Sam players were gathering at SeriousZone to discuss and coordinate matters regarding Serious Sam gameplay. However, over time resentment grew in the forums between the administrative staff and the clans. Clan members often had extremely high post counts on any given day as the board on SeriousZone was used to coordinate matches and various clan activities. A forum member's post count is viewed as a stamp of honor and if one should have a high number of posts per day, they are given a certain amount of respect and credability. Therefore the clan members who posted much more than the regular forum members were viewed as spammers and found the situation more complicated. Salvation and Dark Leviathan managed to convince The MERCs and The Outlaws to leave SeriousZone and join their new website. As The MERCs and The Outlaws were the two largest Serious Sam clans at the time, this immediately gave Gamemecca a strong backbone from which its member base grew. Over time Gamemecca expanded to other games such as Quake and Unreal Tournament. To date Gamemecca has a member base of 2,375 which continues to grow.
On September 10, 2006 ownership of Gamemecca was officially handed over to Bingo, Chico, Dan2, Grimmy, NastyDawg, Terminathare and Shogun. All are now encharged with the day to day administrative duties, allowing Salvation and Dark Leviathan to concentrate on their business matters.
