By far and away the best baseball franchise is the St Louis Cardinals. They have the most non-purchased tradition, the best fans, and the best uniforms.

I thought we were gonna debate something Pure....this one's a slam dunk in my favor... :P

You can't be serious when talking about tradition! Yes they buy some players, most teams do, but tradition goes deep with the Yankees.

They also never get credit for bringing up great players through their system like Jeter, Posada, Williams, and Soriano.

They did purchase Mark McGuire, didn't they? :P

I know, weak compared to the Yankees purchaces, but I had to throw it out there!

And fans, no fans are even close to NY fans for loyalty and dedication!

You must have inhaled some of that lovely NY air! :P

No one is as knowledgable about baseball as the St Louis Fans. A metropolitan area of 2.5 million that draws over 3 million every year...incredible! Now that's loyalty. Sure the Yankees have developed some nice players recently, I'll give you that. But they also out-buy everyone because they are in the largest market and have an unfair advantage in terms of total revenue....

And nothing beats the STL on the hat and the birds on the bat!

But I think we both agree Grimmy is a dork! :P

Ah the air, actually the city isn't as bad as most would think, after being to Denver and LA, NY air is sweet!

I had know idea about the fan base, I'm quite impressed. too bad. By the way, how's Tino doing?

I think half of the reason George S buys a lot of players is just to piss off the league. The luxury tax is a clear atack on the Yankees by small market teams. Some team owners pocket the tax money instead of spending it to improve the team, like the Brewers!

Bird is nice!

As for Grimmy, can't go there, he's my cyber :drink: :drink: ing buddy!

Mr Clean

The Brewers do that. You know who is really bad? The Royals. Their owner (Glass is the last name I think) gets more revenue sharing and TV money than his payroll, and he STILL claims he is losing money.....my a$$

Tino had an off year last year. Had he been his normal self it might have been enough to get us into the Series....o well. I like him and I think he's gonna have a nice year for us....

I like Grimmy too, but he hates baseball, so at least some ribbing is deserved, :drink: buddy or no :drink: buddy.... :P

Tino is all class, I was following him a little last year. If the yanks had his defense out there, they would've done better. It's going to take Tino a while to get used to all the different pitchers he's facing!

I'm just glad you're not a Red Sux fan!

As far as Grimmy goes, rib away, after all, he's a dreaded Outlaw now.

I'm afraid the Cubs are so utterly pathetic there is no hope for them. Haley's Comet has passed TWICE since they last won.....I can't wait until 2008...the 100 anniversary since their last World Series victory....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
