My New Practical Joke

So we had this guy who had turned in his notice and then had a vacation planned. He went out sick for a couple days too. So I figured he was gone for too long and should be messed with. Unfortunately I ran out of time to pull this off for him.

However, right after he got back a lady who works at our office went on vacation so I did this on her. Note that this is blatantly ripped off from another thing I saw once.

So, I figured she should be made aware of just how long she's been gone and that she's needed at her desk. To drive this point home I figured she should have something growing out of her keyboard.

I tried to find Alfafa sprouts, but it's freakin amazingly hard to find them. You'd think I was trying to buy weed considering the looks I got when I went around to places. I tried nurserys, Home Improvement places, flower shops, garden centers, you name it. The amazing thing is that I finally found a small bag of grass seed at a frickin drugstore of all places. Go figure. How lucky then that I could also buy cotton at the same place. CVS - friend of all Keyboard gardeners everywhere.

So to begin, we have to prep our garden. Pop the keys off and plant your cotton:

So now everything can pop back together. With the intact keyboard the grass seed comes out.

Sprinkle the seed very liberally around the keys. I used small putty knives to sort of shove the seeds down around the keys.

Now just spray with water and after a couple days, the first hints of turf start to show!

So now we move through the next few days. Cotinue spraying with water twice a day...

Okay. NOW we are getting somewhere! This is about a week after planting my little keyboard garden, over the last couple days before taking this in.

So now we come to today. Success!!

So yeah, her response was pretty funny.

We were all sitting around waiting for her to get in.

She comes in, tosses her stuff down and stands there for a second. She didn't even notice it at first.

So then she sees the keyboard and just looks at it sort of confused at first.

Then she just sort of tries to figure out what the hell is going on. Reaches down and touches it then stands there confused for a few more minutes.

She tries pushing a key then looks around. Then she sees us trying not to look too suspicious and finally we just bust out laughing.

All in all, it was pretty damn funny.
