I like LCD monitors with the "piano black" screens, ie Sony's XBrite, Toshiba's TruBrite, and HP's BrightView.

Been waiting for HP to release their 24" monitor here in the US, and they have.

What do you folks think of this monitor?

Not sure, but I assume my system (hint, click on My System) can handle it. :)

For those that say that is a high price are not familiar with all the features of such a screen. I have used these screens with digital signage software where a display has to have that high of a resolution which is HD 1080.

If you are asking for opinions I would rather give you advice. Its a sweet piece of hardware that will allow you to do some amazing stuff outside of gaming such as video editing HD etc. Also HP makes a quality stand and casing for their screens. The vertical ability on the fly is great also. I think it's worth it if you desire quality in your hardware.

Thanks Mr. big, I went to Wal-Mart today and confirmed that this model has the screen I like. They had the 22 inch model in stock, #W2207 .
My younger brother works for a spin off Costco Company that refurbs all of the computer systems that get returned in the US. I might wait until a HP W2208 gets returned there, and buy one at a reduced price.
In the mean time, I'll keep an eye on the weekly Fry's ad, to see if they bring some in on sale, or gasp....with a rebate.

I am off on vacation tomorrow and won't return until next monday. I will see what they are going for these days at on of the companies I consult for which is an HP dealer. I will run it by you if the deal is much worth it.
