Difference between Windows Vista x64 and x86?

Hi, I am thinking of getting Windows Vista. However, there are two different versions, x64 and x86. Which one would I need? I have a 32bit CPU.

yea, 64x needs a 64 bit cpu

I bought it and installed it today and I love it so far. Theres a folder called "windows old". Is it safe to delete this? It takes up a lot of room in my hardrive.
